Concert venues in the Netherlands
The "DUMKA" chapel is going on a foreign concert tour to present "Carmina Burana" by Karl Orff to the Dutch public. This project is a continuation of the concert series of 2019, 2021 and 2022, which gathered full halls and broke attendance records.
The piece will be performed under the direction of Raimond Janssen. In addition to the "DUMKA" chapel, the academic symphony orchestra "INSO-Lviv" will take part in the performance.
Orff's "Carmina Burana" is a work about love and the joys of life that bring happiness to a person. Based on the poems of traveling monks and students of the 13th century, which praised the joys of earthly life, "Carmina Burana" speaks to the listeners: "Enjoy every moment of life!".
This powerful peice attracts attention not only with driving dance rhythms, but also with the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Its effect is achieved thanks to the use of the Latin and Old German languages, genres of medieval music and imitation of the sound of a male church choir.
The most famous piece from "Carmina Burana" is the legendary "O Fortuna". This iconic piece of orchestral and choral music has been used in commercials, popular music hits and, of course, motion pictures such as Excalibur and The Doors.
In its concert tour, "DUMKA" will give 18 concerts in Amsterdam, Eidhoven, Rotterdam, Arnhem, Utrecht, Haarlem, Groningen, The Hague.
